Is there an over the counter medicine to buy at the farmacias that will kill all the parasites like amoeba, etc. I read somewhere that Fel-6 is good. Does it need a prescription? Anybody know about it? Also, anyone out there with natural ...

yes, and more effective. i didn't have much luck with the soup/tea, though I was probably supposed to be drinking it all day for a few days. It's actually cheaper to by the meds if you don't have a garden. Pumpkin is not that cheap. Read More

yes, carob powder would be difficult. i have been give a few different local home remedies, and they all seem to require the local pumpkin/squash seeds and the stringy part as well as cinnamon and garlic. One called for malagueta also. I may have ... Read More

yes, i think we got it from brushing our teeth with the tap water in santiago or maybe swimming in a freshwater river at an expat place outside of puerta plata or maybe from fresh vegetables like lettuce. i have both amoeba and giardia. boo hop Read More

do not have a bank there yet. we will arrive on august 27th and will travel around for 2 weeks before we go to Rio San Juan, which will be our primary residence. What banks do you recommend? thanks Read More

Thank you for all the information on the ATMs. my account is with USAA. I am not charged fees in the US for withdrawals but not sure about overseas. I'm pretty sure they don't. Are there any other expats in the DR using USAA? I was wondering more ... Read More
