Tax Returns - How long can I expect to receive mine? by pixelsicle
This is our first official year in Puerto Rico and filed our personal tax return a few months ago. How long before we can expect our return? From what we have been told it could take up to six months, is this true?
My procrastinating co-workers just got their refunds last week, early August as per usual! You should still follow up, but its likely you will get your check in the next week or so. Read More
Purchase & register a car in Puerto Rico without a PR ? by Anolis
Hello, does anyone know from their own experience if it is possible to purchase & register a car in Puerto Rico without having to get a PR license? We will be there temporarily next year, but for nearly 6 mo. & will thus probably buy a car.
When I first moved to Puerto Rico I kept my DC license for nearly a year. In the meantime, I bought a car, rented a house started working, etc. Don't go through the hassle of the local DMV if you are certain that you will only be here a short ... Read More

They work moderately well in our experience. My wife and baby use it almost daily in the house, and when we are outside at night (like last night) for extended periods. I think the biggest downside is that it probably does not last as long as the ... Read More

If you are talking about your refund, it depends. I file ASAP in February and get my change back in March or April. I have friends who file on April 15 and usually wait until August. By the way, the government is beyond broke, so I think most ... Read More

Forgot to mention the earthquakes by GreggK
I'm hearing you guys in PR are having a bit of a scare with an earthquake right about now. Keep us posted on how everybody is doing.

Tourism is easy money and should be promoted. I think that part of the issue is that the island never had to compete since it had other industries ( due to tax subsidies etc) and most of the tourism is internal. I know some hotels have attempted the ... Read More
