About
Madam, Sir,
Thank you for your interest in my application. However, being resolutely focused on the future and not on the past, I would like to submit to you a summary of my professional career as well as an overview of the reasons which led me to change employers.
1. After studying Industrial Electronics Engineering which went very well (I finished first every year, all sections combined), I was recruited by the company SIEMENS HEALTHCARE as a Field Service Engineer in medical scanners. Within this company, I was able to progress, both at the technical level (mastery of increasingly complex devices, regular participation in a quadrilingual Call Center) and at the managerial level, since I obtained a position as Regional Technical Manager of a team of technicians (Bachelor level). I obtained the Bronze medal for Labor Merit for this position.
2. In 2000, following personal problems (divorce) SIEMENS offered me a 鈥渃hange of scenery鈥 and to go to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in order to install the first MRIs there. I worked there for 4 years, adding to my experience interventions on various types of devices: standard radiology, ultrasound, resuscitation, dentistry.
3. In 2004, the company PHILIPS achieved a tour de force in Luxembourg by selling medical devices worth +/- 鈧1 million. There was no longer enough work for our team of 8 technicians. I had to resolve to change firms and therefore redirect my professional activity to PHILIPS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS.
4. Unfortunately, I made the wrong choice: in addition to having a significant technological delay, PHILIPS is more of a company that buys subsidiaries and places their products on the market. This resulted in a lack of unity and homogeneity in the product range and particularly in logistics. This caused great customer dissatisfaction. Despite everything, I was able to complete most of the projects, but not all. So I was disembarked after a year, the designated culprit of a firm which could not keep its commitments to its clients and which has since disappeared from the country.
5. Then follows a period of temporary work and training (in teaching and in industrial quality) as well as a period of job search (in Belgium, France, England, Germany) of +/- one year.
6. In 2007, I had the chance to be recruited by SMITHS DETECTION, a French company which produces X-ray machines to scan baggage at airports. Being overqualified for the role, I was offered to work as a technician for a period of 1 to 2 years to master the devices with a position in Paris in management (quality department, testing and commissioning of devices). The people who had hired me at the time having left the company, the new management made me understand that I was not counted on for a position of responsibility, I had to settle for a job as a technician, almost a worker in a technology that did not suit me. I was discharged after 5 years of service. I learned that the company replaced me with 2 people and is no longer recruiting engineers for its technical department. A heavy goods vehicle driving license and possibly a forklift driver's license are appreciated upon hiring.
7. Then follows a new 鈥渃rossing the desert鈥 during which I increase the number of job search procedures, FOREM training and temporary teaching positions. This period will last two years.
8. I am currently employed as a technical manager at EUROX.be which distributes almalasers.com medical lasers (company of 5 people). I am very satisfied to return to my favorite field: working in the service of doctors is both a very motivating challenge and a very instructive experience. I obtained the Gold Medal for Merit for Work and the honorary title of Master of Science, Mentor label, for this position. However. The sale of products having not 鈥渢aken off鈥 in Belgium, EUROX decided to separate from its after-sales service division and to dismiss me.
I hope, Madam, Sir, that this short summary will allow you to better understand my professional career and will make you want to meet me in order to get to know me better and to consider the common benefits of a future collaboration.
Very cordially,
Jacques Colinet
