I had a call with IBZ, they have a huge backlog, so for everyone still waiting from Feb/March, it's best to start trying to contact them.

Hi everyone! Has anyone experienced receiving one no-reply email and then another no-reply email about 20 days later? What could this mean? My application is for a Single Permit in Brussels.

@mr.beck

Did you receive??

@mr.beck

Hi did you receive any news ?

@Ramesh2023

nope, not yet :(

Hi everyone,

I know it's still early in the process, so I'm not expecting anyone to predict exact dates. However, I'd appreciate hearing your best guess so I can better plan my relocation from Australia.

My employer submitted my Single Permit application to the Wallonia region on 8 July. I was expecting the application to be declared admissible by now, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Is it true that processing tends to slow down during July and August because of the summer holiday season? If so, how much of a delay is typical? I'm just trying to get a realistic idea of the timeline so I can plan my move as best as possible.

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone here whose work permit was approved in April (especially mid-April) and is still waiting for the federal residence approval (Single Permit)?

My work permit was approved on 16 April 2026, and I'm still waiting for the residence part. I'd like to compare timelines and see if others are in the same situation.

Thanks!

@Ramzi20

4 months is the legal timing. It all depends on your " luck聽 " I guess, for some it took 2 months , 3 months and for others 4 months.. But better to take into consideration that the processing is 4 months legally.

Thanks @Naouel cherif I did a bit of homework, and it helped me come to this conclusion. Please feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong.

From what I understand, the process has two parts: WP and RP. The WP is processed by the region, and its processing time varies quite a bit. The RP is then processed by immigration, which seems to take around 3 months in most cases.

So, if your WP is approved in less than a month, you're likely to receive your Annex 46 within about 3 months or even sooner. However, if your WP takes around a month (which seems to be the most common case) or longer, then your Annex 46 will most likely be issued after 4 months or more.

@Ramzi20

No, it is completely a gamble. I received my work permit within two weeks, but it has been over three months and I am still waiting for my residence permit.

@mr.beck

In Brussels..the work part is ALWAYS approved in 1 week...flanders takes 4 weeks approx... residence part will take 12-14 weeks after the work part approval.

@pranav2424

it has been 14 weeks now i have been still waiting for residence part....

@mr.beck

You should get it in a week or two now.

@Ramzi20

I have called the immigration administration many times , and they all say that in total it takes up to 4 months, you should not look at it as two separate things , it is all joint , they have to respect the 4 months period. So from the moment you have submitted sucessfully you application , you have to calculate 4 months later聽 that you will have your annexe 46 ;)

tip from an anxious stressed out person: don't stress over it , it usually takes less than that, but you never know, it is really random , I personally received mine within 2 months the first time and then it is really random when you request renewal can take 1 month, 2 months , 3 months ... it is really random!

@pranav2424

How much time does it take for a decision to be made after our status changes to "In treatment by Office" ?聽

@Naouel cherif

i have been waiting since January; i got my WP after less than a week, but ever since, from the 2nd of February, i'm still waiting for the RP; i know we have long ago exceeded the statutory processing period, but is there anything i can do or call to get a response or an update; the HR is the one driving the process, and only info we got is 'still processing'

@mr.beck

Well.. its luck..

Residence part should take not more than 16 weeks...u can even call them..

They explicitly tell...if its greater than 16 weeks..we will intervene on phone

@pranav2424

it has been almost 15 week after work permit approval and today status has changed to treatment by the office.

@mr.beck

Then call them on their number and get it approved. They do pick-up after 2-3 tries.

@wadie ejjoufari

Ouff that's not normal call them! they always pick up and if you get someone who is not helpful , call again the next day hoping for a different person to pick up ..

@Naouel cherif @pranav2424

Do you have their number i tried to call a number but no one picked up. Can you share with me a number?

@mr.beck

there is only number 02/488.80.00
