I suggest trying an ultrasonic barking deterrent device which emits an ultrasonic sound.聽 The undetectable sound to humans is annoying to a dog and might deter aggressive behavior.聽 I鈥檝e used it on barking dogs and they immediately start running away.

Thank you for your suggestion. That's the gadget I bought when I arrived in Antalya but unfortunately it doesn't always work. For whatever reason it's not as effective. It works on cats! Hardly on dogs.聽

I can鈥檛 remember the brand name of the high freq dog silencer, but I got it from another expat friend of mine living in Turkey.聽 It worked splendidly on all of the dogs in my mom鈥檚 Kusadasi neighborhood.聽 After returning home to the US, my wife borrowed it when she went to Colombia to visit her mom and the device worked just as well on Colombian dogs.聽 I can share details of the device should you want it.

I do not know where you live, but dogs around here are very friendly (we had a few big dogs in the past ourselves), my wife even plays the stray dogs on the beach. Never in my 60+ years i have been ever been attacked by dogs.

As a side note I hate Antalya (too big, I even hate Alanya (too much crime)
